Valentino

Valentino served up a ladylike collection in sophisticated, dusky shades

The look Valentino served up a ladylike collection in sophisticated, dusky shades.

Key pieces Daytime pieces provided a casual feel with 1960s-inspired cashmere dresses and swinging knee-length skirts. Lace was employed on slim, long evening gowns and used as a finish on sheer halterneck tops. More femininity came via fitted dresses with flared or gently pleated skirts. Delicate touches included flowers appliquéd to the neckline of dresses, to create high necks, and sheer sleeves. Outerwear was tailored and came in a soft mink shade.

Commercial appeal This was one of the most commercial collections seen in Paris. The palette would look at home on the floors of Zara and Cos while the pretty details would translate to womenswear retailers such as Oasis and Warehouse.
