Versus

Spring 11

The look Floral prints and stripes were folded and patchworked against tartan as Christopher Kane’s Scottish heritage played out in his third triumphant collection for the Italian house.

Key pieces A box pleat above-the-knee dress with cutaways on the décolletage stood out alongside a floral wrap top dress with a striped black and fuchsia skirt. Bold block colours also featured in flag-like arrangements on A-line dresses.

Commercial appeal Dress silhouettes were hugely wearable while the ditsy floral prints and tartan were both commercial. A tartan and leather-trimmed bomber jacket added a directional element.

Footwear and accessories A pointed toe-post in leather, trimmed with printed fabric, sat on a wooden heel and was an exciting new last shape for the footwear market.
