Autumn 10

The look

An elegant yet contemporary mix of autumn staples and more exciting trend-led styles with a focus on tone-on-tone panelling, shearling linings and spat button fastenings make up the autumn 10 women’s collection at Clarks. Sleek riding boots, shoe boots with chunky cube heels and tough ankle boots with side buckle fastenings also feature.

The boot offer is the highlight, and features high-quality leather and suede. A chestnut, plum, tan, taupe and jet black palette dominates, with an androgynous theme bubbling under the surface. Flat pumps with delicate across-the-foot strapping add a feminine dimension.

The only downside is an upturned rounded toe story in purple suede, which looks a little witch-like and could struggle.

Key pieces

  • Chestnut riding boots with a thin sole and side pull-up tabs
  • Cleated-sole shoe boots with elastic side panels
  • Taupe lace-up chunky heeled ankle boots

Right for the market?

Clarks’ priorities have always been classic and comfortable footwear with an element of fashionability, and the retailer delivers just that for autumn 10.

Clarks has said that prices will not change against autumn 09 and the levels of quality have also been maintained.

The footwear firm has adhered to a clear and concise trend story and delivered a clear picture of where it stands for the autumn 10 season.
