Folding ballet pump brand Butterfly Twists has unveiled its first range of folding flip-flops, which will be available to stockists for spring 13.
The flip-flops come in a range of 55 colours and, like Butterfly Twists’ other products, can be folded up into a bag.
The brand, which received “sizeable” investment from brand house Pentland Group earlier this year, plans to launch one new product each season in its bid to build a reputation to rival Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas and ethical espadrille brand Toms.
For autumn 12, Butterfly Twists introduced a range of foldable women’s boots and director Frank Eribo said launching flip-flops for spring 13 was the next logical step.
Eribo said he expects almost all of Butterfly Twists’ 140 stockists, which include footwear chain Office, department store group Fenwick and etailer Rubbersole.co.uk, to stock the fold-up flip-flops for spring 13.
The flip-flops will retail at £19.99, with a wholesale price of £8.
Founded in 2009, Butterfly Twists is now stocked in 14 countries, including the US, France and Japan. It is gearing up to increase its international presence for spring 13, when it will launch in South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
