Premium handbag and accessories brand Radley has hired Sarah Edwards as its new design director.
Edwards, who started at Radley in August, replaces Michaela Wenkert, who left in February 2011 to set up her own business.
Before joining Radley, Edwards worked as a freelance footwear and accessories design consultant for two and a half years. Prior to that she worked on women’s accessories collections at high street retailers including Monsoon, Reiss and Topshop.
Edwards will work closely with Radley’s founder Lowell Harder, who rejoined the business in March as non-executive director.
It is understood Radley is poised for a restructure in the coming weeks, although it declined to comment.
This year has already seen a number of changes to its management team. In January it was announced that former chief executive Roger Best would return as chairman and interim chief executive, following the departure of chairman Paul Mason and chief executive Sven Gaede.
Radley also appointed Naomi Halliday from womenswear retailer East as head of merchandising at the end of March.
