Fount eyes growth after House of Fraser launch

Womenswear brand Fount is launching into its first major multiple retailer a year after its inception.

The contemporary brand will be available on House of Fraser’s website from next week.

The collection will be an edit of the brand’s party dresses chosen specially for the Christmas party season.

The first drop will comprise 20 pieces, although this will be increased to 30 pieces per drop thereafter.

Retail prices for Fount range from £35 for a dress to £75 for a coat.

Founder Ivy Chan said she hoped this would signal the start of rapid growth for the brand, which has 80 indie stockists including contemporary womenswear boutique Modiste in Bramhall, Stockport, and etailers Love Clothing and Pretaportobello.com, as well as a number of indies.

Chan is hoping to double Fount’s stockist count by this time next year. “Getting stocked on a major high street retailer’s website is a huge milestone for us and hopefully it will lead to us getting into more high street stores,” she said.

Chan is now deciding which autumn 13 trade shows the brand will exhibit at.
