GFW The stuart peters visionary knitwear award

Wonjee chung Nottingham Trent University

In another exceptional collection of knitted dresses, Wonjee Chung’s wow factor came from exaggerated padded piping looped around the torso and face. The statement look was offset by softer, sheer trousers and played out in a toned-down version on simple jumper dresses with sewn-on and printed loops. The palette was made up of muted greys and black.

Judged by knitwear businesses Stuart Peters and John Smedley, the award sought a directional and innovative knitwear collection showing appropriate use of colour, texture, yarn and silhouette. The judges said Chung’s collection”encompassed innovation together with a sense of commerciality, excitement and considered technical ability”.
