Godske classic

Spring 11

The collection Aimed squarely at the 65-plus demographic, Godske Classic is strong on occasionwear suitable for cruise or grandmother-of-the-bride outfits. All pieces feature loose-cut shapes and soft fabrics. Some more directional items have started to show through in a small way for spring 11, such as jersey jackets with contrasting lapels and

subtle stud detail. Skirts are long and loose and come in plain colours suitable for pairing with statement tops such as bright floral jackets with contrast trims or draping silk shirts with elaborate paisley prints. Spot prints are also popular on simple T-shirts and gathered chiffon tops. Faux suede came through for spring 10 and sold well so has been extended for spring 11 with jackets and a super-soft suit. Statement pieces are offset with basics in pastel shades.

Brand Comment

Poul Ulrik, Godskesen

Managing director

“Budgets have been up on last year across the board but people were very cautious for spring 10 and many of them under-bought - but they did have good sell-throughs. It’s a fine balance to add a fresher, younger look without losing your core customer and we have picked up business from other brands that went too young. We sell with a roadshow for three weeks before we bring the collections to the showroom, so it gives us a headstart on the other brands.”
