Henri Lloyds younger brother HL Jeans Co are pioneering new music.

Where: Hoxton Bar and Grill - Hackney.

What we ate and drank: Free bar - No food

Henri Lloyd are one of Manchester’s best loved and respected brands. Known for their innovation and creativity, it wasn’t surprising that in 2007 they launched their lifestyle brand HL Jeans Co, a youth menswear label, which is aimed towards the 17-25 demographic and pitched as a creative, youthful and music inspired brand.

Since its launch, HL Jeans has already been working with artist such as The View, Two Door Cinema Club, Delphic, 1913 and last year sponsored Manchester own indie music festival Hungry Pigeon.

Catering to their demographics demands they came up with the concept, HL Music which aims to be the newest and most credible platform for aspiring musical talent in 2011.

This project offers aspiring artists the opportunity to perform in front of key figures from the music, fashion and media industries and will be held bi-monthly between Manchester and London.

The first in the series of events kicked off last week at Hoxton Bar and Grill, Hackney. I unfortunately couldn’t make it, so a few friends kindly accepted the invitation and went along, commenting what a fab night they had, watching Fenech Soler and Manchester own 1913 perform whilst sipping on drinks courtesy of HL and rubbing shoulders with press, designers (such as Jadien from Jadien RvA James) and even Radio 1s Greg James came along to support Fenech Soler, one of his “acts to watch” of 2010.

It’s always great to see a brand giving something back and recognising how they can support and help young talent across media and being a Manchester brand gives them extra brownie points in our eyes.

So myself and MFN look forward to HL Jeans coming home and showcasing Part: 2 of the HL Music story……To be continued.
