High Street Preview Autumn 14: River Island Menswear

Generation X is River Island’s take on 1990s grunge, with skinny jeans, tartan and leather separates.

Frequency takes the monochrome trend and translates it into high-shine fabrics. Elongated shapes and placement zips add interest to tailored pieces.

Vinyl plays on the mod silhouette, with clean tailoring contrasting with 1960s prints for shirting as well as colourful knits.

Blinders features key outerwear pieces such as bikers and a camel overcoat, while separates come in woollen fabrications in navy, grey and neutrals with leather details.

Techno Folk is inspired by Alpine resorts, with oversized silhouettes and metallic fabrics making it the most directional trend.
