High street preview: Topman autumn 15

Topman has split its collection into four trends, with retro musical influences throughout.

The Britpop Army story takes inspiration from the 1990s music scene and the likes of Blur and Oasis, with a vintage, lived-in look to oversized khaki parkas and grungy patchworks. Northern Soho is a spin on Northern soul style, encapsulated in wide-legged, high-waisted, pleat-front trousers and panelled and patterned thrift store-style knitted jumpers and vests.

A pared back sporty look works on more directional silhouettes, centred on techie detailing and functional bonded or double-faced fabrics.

For the festive party season there is a gothic spin with a dark, black-focused palette and rich fabrics designed to be layered.
