Spring 11

The collection Safari looks are strong at Jackpot with palm leaf prints and camel and khaki tones on jersey dresses. Shirts have more detail such as strategically placed buttons on boyfriend styles which can be used to pin back loose fabric and give a more fitted look. Denim also plays a larger role this season in fine shirts and dresses, with the latter displaying a 1950s influence with cinched waists and full skirts. There is a lot more jersey for spring 11, with softer cowl necklines on tops and dresses. The slim cargo pant features too, but is more forgiving on the thigh to suit the older customer. Colour is brighter at Jackpot compared to its rivals, with pinks, reds and blues adding interest. T-shirts are lengthened to cover thighs and work better with jeggings. Polka-dot prints are used on tops, skirts and dresses. Meanwhile, the skirt has made a strong return with more styles including a mid-calf A-line in denim or cotton and a slim chiffon style with ruffle hem.

Brand Comment

Rachel Johnson Label manager

“So far everyone has spent more than last year so we’re pretty confident about the season. We introduced a jegging with ruching at the bottom last spring and it’s still our top seller - 100% of accounts have bought it and we have a waiting list. We’ve introduced a shorter knee-length style for spring 11. Basics are doing really well for us as people are topping up more in season.”
