Jaeger: womenswear

Autumn 10

The look

From classic suiting in Jaeger Black to punk styling in the younger Boutique by Jaeger and Jaeger London sub-brands, the premium retailer has a broad offer this season.

A punk influence is seen on loose-knit mohair-look jumpers and exposed zips on unstructured dresses and soft suede trousers.

Dark grey, black, navy and camel tones dominate the classic palette.

Classic shoppers will enjoy full-length belted coats and heavy wool suits, while more directional shoppers will buy into the shorts, fitted mini dresses and loose vests.

Key pieces

  • Unstructured wool coat with layered ruffle collar
  • Reversible shearling jacket
  • Shooting star-print sheer blouse

Right for the market?

Autumn 10’s launch of the younger, lower-priced Boutique by Jaeger womenswear sub-brand gives the retailer another string to its well-stocked bow.

The breadth of styles on offer at Jaeger now outstrips many of its high street rivals - which stick to either the classic or young fashion market - as it provides something for every age group. Jaeger’s older core customer is well catered for with classic shapes such as cinch-waisted suits and three-quarter length coats with contemporary twists like shearling trims and feature pockets.

As ever, it is Jaeger London which provides the most directional, fashion-credible looks, with lace-detail jumpsuits, a quilted-effect dress and high-waisted biker-look trousers.
