John Smedley expands unisex collection

On the back of the booming “borrowed from the boys” aesthetic, British knitwear brand John Smedley is expanding its successful unisex line, “Singular” to a full collection for spring 17.

The range launched as a two-piece capsule collection in June 2015, and John Smedley reports, proved to be the most successful fashion line the brand has launched to date. The range is now expanding to a seven-piece collection, comprising grey jumpers, shirts and T-shirts – featuring striking flashes of neon and a honeycomb-textured fabric.

Three items from the spring 17 range launched as a capsule pre-fall preview in July, on sale at likes of Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Liberty, as well as John Smedley’s own stores.

Wholesale prices for the collection range from £45.30 for T-shirts to £65.50 for a hooded sweater.

  • John Smedley will have its work cut out to keep the premium doors onside after venturing into TK Maxx, a move that has many Indies bemused.
