Little Grippers to pull up kids’ socks

Kids’ accessories brand Little Grippers is launching for autumn 13, offering a range of socks it claims will not end up around children’s ankles.

The brand offers baby socks and kids’ socks, gloves and mittens. It will launch at kidswear show Bubble London on January 27 and 28.

Little Grippers has patented its design, which uses silicon to ensure the socks remain in place. Wholesale prices range from £1.20 to £1.50.

Founder Adrien Pettiford, who has worked in clothing supply for 20 years, said he was surprised no one had designed similar products before. “We’ve got kids and they’ve always got their socks round their ankles,” he said.

At Bubble London, Little Grippers will target indies that stock both kidswear and back-to-school ranges. Pettiford added: “We don’t want to be competing with Marks & Spencer and Asda, but we’d love to be in John Lewis.”

Although the range officially launches for autumn 13, the brand will have 20,000 pairs of socks and gloves in stock for in-season spring 13 orders.

A sports sock range will launch in 2013.
