This was Christopher Shannon’s most colourful collection to date, with bursts of magenta pink, teal, bright red and purple alongside a scale of blues from cobalt to dusty pales.
The inspiration was English folklore mixed with a backpackers take on tribal, manifesting itself in blanket fabrics, embroidered badges and trademark tasselled finishes. As always, sportswear influences appeared as elasticated waists, jogging bottoms, bombers and Harrington jackets. The shapes were simple, but Shannon’s skill for revamping a simple white shirt still isn’t tired.
In short Shannon smartly returned to his commercial hits but in a colourful new way. However, those wanting something new might be a little disappointed.
