London Collections: Men - Lou Dalton

Lou Dalton’s minimal collection had a lighter touch than her last spring showing.

Another collection with sports-luxe influences, it was the contrasting fabrics that kept the simple shapes interesting: suede butted up to jersey, mesh to cotton in a technical experimental convergence of overtly sporty detail and smarter, more tailored styles. Baseball jackets and shirts helped signpost the trend more obviously, but it was the tailoring that gave us the most successful examples of this mélange of styles as the mesh panelling added an airiness to the structured jackets.

In short The simplicity of the minimal designs will translate well to a wider audience even if the luxurious fabrics don’t make the transition.
