Mother of Pearl

On day four of London Fashion Week saw several of London’s big hitters take to the catwalks. After Burberry and JW Anderson on day two, and Simone Rocha and Mary Katrantzou on day three, Erdem, Christopher Kane and Roksanda all presented their collections.

Experimental London favourite Marques’Almeida also showed its range today, with a collection designed to empower and featuring burned tie-dyes and biker separates.

Top Brit accessories were out in force today, as Aspinal London showcased its  designs in its glistening new store in Piccadilly, and Sophia Webster displayed a dance-themed collection, complete with trophy cabinets and revolving disco balls.

Mother of Pearl and Faustine Steinmetz represented the new talent on the London scene, as Mother of Pearl showcased a commercial, elegant and wearable collection, while Steinmetz took a more experimental approach with her capsule collection of fuzzy, equestrian-inspired denim.

AV Robertson capped off the day’s proceedings, making her on-schedule catwalk debut with a series of tartan and gem-stone encrusted designs.

Boutique 1 houses more than 200 brands – both established names and up-and- coming designers. It has stores in four cities, including on London’s Sloane Square and in the UAE, as well as an online platform. Laura Larbalestier buying director shares her thoughts on the day.
