Meltin' Pot names new creative director

Italian denim brand Meltin’ Pot has appointed Leopoldo Durante as creative director.

Durante co-owns and designs premium jeans brand Care Label and has collaborated with brands including Rick Owens and Alexander McQueen.

His first collection for the label will be autumn 13, which will be presented at menswear tradeshow Pitti Uomo. The new collection will see a restyling of the brand’s historical key pieces and will showcase a new direction for the label.

For autumn 13 Meltin’ Pot will also re-launch the B-Side Jean, a completely reversible style.

Chief executive Augusto Romano said: “We choose Leopoldo for his incredible experience in jeans design and for his modern interpretation of the market. At this time I think that the market needs a different and unconventional approach to the product, and surely Leopoldo and his team can provide it.”
