Drapers’ pick of the brands from the spring 16 edition of Milan footwear trade show Micam, which ran at the Fiera Milano from September 1 to 4.
Italian young-fashion brand Silvian Heach unveiled its first footwear collection at Micam this season. The women’s collection of 72 styles features wedged espadrilles with canvas uppers, mesh trainers, sandals with a wooden platform heel and plastic flatform flip-flops with the brand’s name along the sole. The range has a sports luxe feel and has details including studs, glitter and floral prints. Silvian Heach is currently looking for a UK distributor. Wholesale prices start at €39 (£28.70) for trainers and go up to €69 (£50.70) for sandals.

Portuguese brand Codenoir has been running for 15 years and is looking for more UK stockists to add to the handful it already has. Premium trainers for both men and women are new for spring 16 and high-top styles with a white platform sole have proved popular with buyers. Metallics are also featured in the collection with gold fabric lace-up trainers and silver lace-up loafers. Wholesale prices start at €30 (£22) for slip-on loafers and go up to €46 (£33.80) for brogues.

Spanish riding boot brand Palanco has revamped its collection for spring 16 by adding bright colours and two-tone combinations. The 18-year-old label caters for men and women and features traditional leather loafers and horse riding boots as well as Chelsea boots and metallic brogues. Wholesale prices start at €50 (£36.70) and go up to €100 (£73.50).

Skechers is launching an “Originals Collection” for spring 16. Jumping on the trend for retro trainers, the Los Angeles-based brand has dived into its archive and updated four old Skechers designs from the 1990s for next season. The wholesale price will be £30. The brand also plans to launch a clothing range in the UK for autumn 16 focused on fitness and performance products. Wholesale prices are not yet available.
The popular Menorcan sandal brand is launching espadrilles for spring 16. The styles will feature Aztec designs and white snakeskin-look uppers, as well as soft pink and grey styles. Wholesale prices range from £19.80 for simple styles to £22 for lace-up-the-leg versions. The brand has also added slider sandals to its collection for next season (wholesale £19) and a sequined version of its glitter bestseller priced at £19.80.

For spring 16 women’s pump brand Cocorose has added non-foldable printed loafers to its collection (£55 wholesale) while the British label has also extended its tie-up with the Royal Ballet and has launched a four-style handbag range featuring images from the ballet company. Wholesale prices for the bag collectionrange from £25 to £29 depending on the detail added. Foldable espadrilles are also new for spring and the seven styles come in bright nautical-inspired designs (wholesale price £25). Another hit with buyers is the cut-out trainer priced at £40 wholesale.

Ted Baker has launched a new contemporary women’s footwear collection for spring 16.The unnamed four-style range is 1970s-inspired and features flat sandals, ankle-strap sandals, wedges and block heel sandals. The collection has been designed to add a more casual day-to-night look to a brand that is known for more formal stiletto styles. Wholesale prices start at £38 for flat sandals and rise to £54 for block heels.

Barker has reversed its popular tan-and-blue men’s brogue from autumn 15 to offer a version that is predominantly blue with tan for spring 16 (wholesale price £93.50). On women’s a similar style, mixing lilac suede and metallic, is also new (wholesale price £87).
Architect and shoe designer Julian Hakes has evolved his eponymous women’s footwear range from the well-known Mojito style to include a new honeycomb structured heel which is a wedge shape with hexagonal and oval-shaped holes throughout. The spring collection has 50 different styles all centred around the open wedge heel. Heel heights vary from flat slider styles to low wedge heels to a higher wedge. Wholesale prices start at £26 for sliders, wedges are £42.60 and the mojito is £70.

Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn
US brand Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn made its European debut at Micam this season with its spring 16 range. The women’s footwear brand features 26 styles from loafers to espadrilles to wedges and block heels wholesale prices for shoes range from £40 for flats to £56 for heels. Laser cut boots have been a hit with buyers as have the label’s collection of 12 handbags, which range from a small cross-body bag (wholesale price £32) to a large tote (£90).

The British men’s brand has added coloured leather loafers to its spring 16 collection following the popularity of coloured suede last season. Red, blue and green lace-up loafers priced at £58.95 wholesale have proved a hit with buyers.
