New brand: Corinthian's luxe sports heritage

After seeing a gap in the market for an elevated men’s lifestyle brand that took football as its inspiration, Jay Barrymore and Chris Watney have founded the luxury menswear brand Corinthian, launching for autumn 17.

It is not a sportswear brand, but Corinthian takes its name from a historic English football team, known for espousing gentlemanly fair play and credited with popularising football worldwide. The collection features a range of casual separates, focusing on luxury textures including brushed Italian cotton, and merino and Hainsworth wool.

Classic designs nod back to the Corinthian team: a full-length, raspberry “watch coat” and a merino wool scarf, featuring a reworking of the tie pattern from the Corinthian team kit, are highlights in the 17-piece debut collection. The brand also aims to promote and support organisations that use sport as a tool for change through its Corinthian Foundation.

Wholesale prices range from £23 for a T-shirt to £295 for a full-length wool coat.
