Spring 11

The collection Sports luxe is key at Oui for spring 11. Grey marl jersey track pants and boyfriend jackets are teamed with long, printed sequin T-shirts and washed leather jackets, and a fine-knit zip-up top with a sheer hood. Denim stands out and comes in super-skinny or loose cuts as well as stretch denim dresses and skirts and denim-effect knitwear. Leggings and treggings are still

out in force. The collection has a more feminine feel than in previous seasons with romantic, flowing shapes in knitwear. Prints are softer with more florals and antique-look lace. Body-con silhouettes are back for dresses and there are more skirts in the collection than ever before, with short fitted styles dominating. Printed knitwear remains in abundance but with less embellishment than in the past few seasons. Soft grey and taupe shades are highlighted with aquamarine, yellow and the ever-present purple.

Brand Comment

Geraldine Bennett UK managing director

“The collection is more feminine and there’s a fragile feel to the knitwear. There’s been a positive mood so far this season although buyers are concerned about the VAT increase. Last season we exceeded expectations at a lot of indies, but many have trimmed down their brand portfolios. They are getting less traffic through the door but are finding smart ways to persuade shoppers to increase basket sizes.”
