Peter Werth teams up with Nutters

British menswear brand Peter Werth and bespoke tailor Nutters of Savile Row have teamed up for autumn 13 in a collaboration that will see both labels increase their customer reach.

Nutters of Savile Row for Peter Werth is a 100-piece collection featuring blazers, waistcoats, trousers, knitwear, shirts and accessories. The brands described it as “contemporary sportswear”, with a strong use of jersey.

The collaboration arose after the duo produced garments for forthcoming film Northern Soul and decided to work together on a collection.

Nutters creative director David Mason said: “We come from a very formal background but with a fashionable edge and Peter Werth has moved towards formalwear from a knitwear background, so we’ve nodded to both heritages.”

Wholesale prices have not been disclosed but will be lower than Nutters’ usual price range and higher than Peter Werth’s. However, Mason said the pair were conscious of not creating “a cheap version of Nutters or an expensive version of Peter Werth”.

As a result, the collection will not be sold where either brand has an existing presence. “It’s more likely to be found in Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Selfridges,” said Mason.
