Richard Nicoll unveils first Jack Wills collection

The London Fashion Week designer has unveiled his debut collection for the young fashion chain Jack Wills.

It may have come as a surprise to many when designer Richard Nicoll was announced as creative director of Jack Wills last year, but now that his first collection has hit the stores for spring 15, it would appear that the Australian-born, London-based designer is actually a very good fit for the preppy British brand.

Preserving the Jack Wills DNA was important to Nicoll, which means gilets, tracksuit pants and hoodies still feature heavily, but, taking inspiration from British sub-culture ranging from 1960s Youth Quake to 1990s Brit Pop, Nicoll has used bold colour, graphic prints and a little of his signature minimalism to create a more modern and irreverent collection for both womenswear and menswear.

Retail prices range from £19.50 for a T-shirt to £249 for a leather biker jacket for women’s and from £29.50 for a T-shirt to £198 for a blazer for men’s.
