Stockholm Fashion Week: Cheap Monday

Beyond the slightly out-there styling, the key message was a grungy layered look.

Flannel checks and football stripes covered trousers and slouchy shirt dresses, while military featured as shirt jackets and an oversized parka. Shearling also came through, lining coats or covering jumpers and bomber jackets. Metallic Lurex rollnecks and lace trousers also stood out, two emerging trends seen at several Stockholm shows. Denim was ripped and shredded, overwashed and paint-splattered for the new season, while knits were chunky.

In short Nineties grunge remade for the kids who missed it the first time, complete with ready-ripped denim and military influences all sure to be high street hits.
