The rise of the Machine

Monday night saw the team head over to the slightly hard to find but handily situated Protein gallery to see the autumn 12 Jean Machine range sit alongside an exhibition the brand put on for illustrator Greg Eason entitled ‘Focus’.

Eason’s work is characterised by a lone figure or object in an expansive void, symbolic and heavy with contemplation.

While this may all sound a bit arty-farty fashion party, it was anything but as Eason’s intricate hand-drawn pencil sketches neatly reflected the attention to detail bestowed on the Jean Machine denim jacket and jeans shown on the table. There’s a lot of love coming the way of the brand recently but Jean Machine comes across in a very humble way, presenting simple products that just look good. The Protein gallery’s stripped back set up kept the down-to-earth theme going (as long as you didn’t see the bucket upon bucket of prosecco that is) while the peaceful ‘making of’ video played in the background. Good to see he’s a propelling pencil man.
