Forget about plain black leggings and an old cotton T-shirt, the trend for fashionable sportswear continues to gather pace. This has prompted London agency Claret Showroom to launch a separate activewear offer, featuring brands Varley, Mara Hoffman and Wellicious.
Showroom director Claire Spencer-Churchill explains: “Having seen the trend gaining serious attention in LA and Australia, where many of our brands hail from, we decided to open up activewear as a new category within the showroom. Retailers are finding their customers want to keep fit and look good while doing so. We are therefore offering a range of collections for them to choose from.”

Created in 2006 by Heike Schnell, Wellicious specialises in stylish, eco-friendly yogawear. Statement all-in-ones with built-in support are a customer favourite and will return for autumn 15, along with vest tops and trousers in a new tie-dye print.

Known for her bright, printed swimwear, New York designer Mara Hoffman has branched out into activewear and loungewear for autumn 15. The range includes colourful crop tops and leggings, as well as slouchy
cotton sweatshirts and embroidered ponchos.

Founded as a swimwear label by Ben and Lara Mead, who divide their time between London and California, Varley launched activewear for spring 15. For autumn 15 it will include items such as hoodies and shorts in a variety of prints.
