The collection

The autumn 09 collection is a colourful array of hot pinks, purples and evergreens, with a bohemian twist. Colours are punctuated by new jacket forms, such as a cashmere cape or jacquard blazer. Chunky cable detail knitwear is strong while new paisleys, feminine graphic designs, leather appliqués, fake fur and coated wool add to the bohemian look. Light quilted jackets and waistcoats, a short trench coat, biker jackets in crocodile textured leather, and modern boxy jackets define outerwear. Checked and striped blouses set a romantic daywear mood with delicate frills falling through the neckline. The checks theme is extended into knitwear, with a subtle play on diamond paterns. The must-have look of the collection is a two-in-one jacket made of soft tweed and nylon, paired with narrow jeans.

Brand Comment

Natalie Hurrell, UK head of sales

“Buyers aren’t looking for structured tailoring anymore, softer silhouettes are strong. The collection is very item-driven. We are reacting to feedback from customers and the marketplace which tells us that every item has to stand out. Dropped shouldered cape silhouettes with bat wing sleeves are key. Knitwear with cable details are also very strong. Our best selling trousers are in a regular fit, not skinny. Item jackets and knitwear will really drive sales. We are working in partnership with our retailers to help support them, with stock swaps, local advertising and promotional days.”
