Bread & Butter Barcelona cancelled; show stays in Berlin

Industry pressure has caused Karl-Heinz Müller to cancel his plan to transfer Bread & Butter to Barcelona in January. BBB will run on January 19-21 alongside the other Berlin events.

At the July event Müller announced in a lavish presentation that he was taking the show back to Barcelona on January 8-10, putting it as the first event of the season.

Negative reaction from brands and buyers has now prompted a U-turn.

Müller told Sportswear International: “Various discussions with the decision makers of our industry made clear that people rather want to stick to the current format. Most exhibitors of course have the healthy and safe German market in focus. Therefore we follow the call of our industry and stay on our common grounds at former airport Berlin-Tempelhof. Bread & Butter is going to take place simultaneously with the other Berlin trade shows from January 19-21, 2015.”

Last December the BBB founder announced plans to add to two consumer-only days to the show in Berlin in July, but he was forced to drop the idea due to lack of support from exhibitors.
