Colour blocking was a hot trend on the spring 09 runways, and designers took it one stage further for autumn, playing more with fabrics and shape. Australian designer Josh Goot created a ying and yang feeling with diagonal panelled monochrome dresses and matching ankle boots, Christopher Kane added strips of velvet to white chiffon to give a banded effect, while BCBG Max Azria’s futuristic double collar dresses were given extra texture through chunks of geometric tone on tone satin.
