Image Gallery: Berlin Spring 14 Trendwatch

Drapers picks of the top trends we’ve seen so far at the Berlin spring 14 trade shows.

1. Ombré

Already a bit hit during the men’s fashion weeks in Milan, Paris and London, many brands have jumped onto the colour fade bandwagon this season. Orange has been the most popular colour for the ombré effect, seen in particular across knits for men and blouses for women.

2. Printed Technical Outerwear

Taking a hint from the unpredictable weather of spring 13, spring 14 has seen brands focusing on honing their outerwear offering. Prints have been carried through from shirts and t-shirts into shower-proof anoraks and cagoules, adding a hint of cool to practical pieces.

3. Contrasting Shirts

Shirts have done something different this season than the usual print. Contrast panels are a big hit for spring 14, placed either vertically or horizontally, particularly across short-sleeved items. Toning down the print with a planer panel works to make the trend a little more accessible.
