In-season top-ups from accessories label Forbes and Lewis

The autumn collection from British bag label Forbes & Lewis will be available to buy at short order from August 5.

The range, which is the brand’s third, uses globally-sourced leathers and semi-waxed natural canvases on minimalist, unisex backpacks, totes and holdalls. Certain core styles such as rucksacks and duffles appear in every collection in new colourways. Discreet details like as unobtrusive pockets and longer carry handles are functional but stylish.

With accessible wholesale prices starting from £20 for an iPad cover up to £86 for a leather holdall, it’s easy to see how the label has already picked up about 20 UK stockists, as well as others across seven countries. The brand also takes forward orders, with the collection pre-sold into stockists such as Urban Outfitters, The Conran Shop in Fulham and Bibi and Mac, which has three stores in Devon.

Q&A with Samuel Lewis Windridge, co-founder of Forbes and Lewis

How did you come up with the name?
It was fairly straightforward as it is Katie’s [Windridge’s wife and business partner - both are pictured right] surname and my middle name.

Are you filling a gap in the market?
It was hard to find a good quality, well-designed bag at a mid-range price. We saw a gap in the market for well-priced products made from quality materials, which will last the test of time for both durability and design.

Are you looking to add more lines?
We’d like to add some such as belts, headwear for autumn 15 and, eventually, clothing.

What are your production volumes?
We are looking to release a limited quantity of each design - 150 of each style and colour - so get your hands on one quickly!
