Ipanema Summer 2016 Collection Preview

It is the desire to be different that inspires Ipanema.  Like the cosmopolitan beach neighbourhood that gives name to the brand, Ipanema thrives on a constant transformation and diversity.  With every collection Ipanema reinvents itself and introduces new concepts and designs that are equally appropriate for the sand or the city.

With all eyes on Rio de Janeiro in the lead up to the 2016 summer Olympics, Ipanema is celebrating with the launch of the ‘Rio Collection’. Elements of the wonderful city are captured in the detail of each style, such as the mosaic of soapstone triangles that comprise the statue of Christ the Redeemer being elegantly incorporated into T-Bar sandals, trimmed with gold and silver.

An exclusive collaboration with world renowned designer Philippe Starck, bringing a new dimension to summer footwear, will be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week in October, alongside the collections of the top luxury fashion houses.

With a celeb fan-base including David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry and Anais Gallagher, Ipanema claims that its key to success has been the focus on constantly developing new shapes and materials, with a focus on sustainability. Ipanema is created by Grendene, the largest footwear company in Brazil, who manufacture in their own factories in the north of Brazil supporting the local community and ensuring all Ipanema products are made from 100% recyclable materials.
