Moda Menswear

It was all about knitwear, texture and colour for autumn 12 among the menswear brands at Moda.

1952 Collection

Boyzone star Shane Lynch’s brand made its trade show debut at Moda this season. The 1952 Collection has a muted palette and a broad range of styles, from eveningwear jackets that can be teamed with jeans, to a chunky, V-neck cable-knit jumper and cashmere and fine knits. Floral-print shirts also feature.

DrunknMunky

For autumn 12, streetwear brand Drunknmunky introduces outerwear pieces including a faux-leather jacket with an ‘oil-top’ print to give it a more aged, authentic look. These sit alongside jersey polo shirts with cut-and-sewn woven panel details, and two-tone,1980s-inspired nylon jackets. The collection also includes a range of sweatshirts and bottoms.

Farah 1920

The heritage vibe is key at Farah 1920, which is now in its third season. The collection is inspired by pieces from the Farah archive and includes a number of cotton-fleck jersey T-shirts, with striped and indigo styles on offer. A twisted lambswool fleck knit, a jersey fleck blazer, workwear-inspired jackets and chambray and Oxford check shirts also stand out.

Gaudi

For its third season showing in the UK, Italian menswear brand Gaudi brought its signature slim-fit Italian style to Moda. Its autumn 12 collection ranges from suiting and outerwear to chunky knits. Standout pieces include a fine-gauge merino wool cardigan, a boiled wool blazer and a padded bomber-style jacket with a fur collar.

Joules

Casual lifestyle brand Joules has doubled its knitwear offer and introduced new outerwear pieces. Knitwear includes chunky, fine and cable-knit options in a raft of shades such as orange, mustard and aubergine. Outerwear options include a bright yellow quilted jacket and a waxed jacket that has taken two years to develop.

US Polo Assn

Menswear brand US Polo Assn made its UK trade show debut at Moda, exhibiting its contemporary, all-American preppy styles.

The collection features pieces for a younger customer that play on the brand’s logo, alongside more discreet options for older shoppers. Standout pieces include a navy boiled wool jacket, chunky knits and padded gilets.
