New directions from Carl Gross

Although Carl Gross is renowned for its mainstream look, for spring 15 the men’s tailoring label is upping its trend credentials in an effort to widen its appeal.

A focus on a slimmer silhouette is the anchor for the season’s blazer, with a new body shape entitled Sharp Fit featuring a form-fitting cut and a steeper shoulder. An increase in fabric innovation sees the addition of new blends such as mohair and wool, as well as the use of jacquards to create more fashion-forward looks across the board. Details such as contrast stitching, collar loops and discreet piping also feature. For casual single jackets, a soft shoulder line in a jersey fabric is the most popular. The standout colours are blue and grey, with natural colours including beige and brown rounding out the collection. Wholesale prices for spring 15 are yet to be finalised.
