Rose Rankin is a new premium footwear brand dedicated to a fresh and fun take on trainers. It launched in May and showed its first wholesale collection, for spring 16, at the September edition of womenswear trade show Scoop London.
Inspired by simple retro sports silhouettes, the collection includes a 1970s low tennis shoe, a mid-height style inspired by 1980s basketball boot and a classic running shape in combinations of leather and suede.
Designed in London and handmade in Portugal, what sets this brand apart is its quirky mix of colour, pattern and texture. For example, fuzzy cheetah spot-printed cow hide and velvet sections are contrasted with metallic leather details and a camo print comes panelled alongside punchy brights and jewel tones. Details such as scallop-edged panels lend a feminine feel.
The range wholesales at between £50 and £60.
