The collection

Attention-grabbing knitwear defines Passport’s autumn 09 collection. Soft shapes and long cardigans in emerald green, aubergine, cornflower blue, purple and mustard are strong, along with a distinctive abstract ombre print on knits. Knitwear is kept light, with soft mohair and merino wool providing surface texture alongside textured details including ruffled lace necklines, fur neck trims and wool. Cocoon shapes create a softer silhouette, along with cape-style tops with bat wing sleeves. Layering is an important merchandising tool with long coatigans over polo necks and waistcoats creating a relaxed autumnal silhouette.

  • Cowl neck tie-dye top in wool with cable detail

Brand Comment

Brand manager Elisa Zaninetti, brand manager

“Passport is about key pieces, particularly long printed knits that stand out. We’ve just received our second collection, which is all about gorgeous fabrics and colours. Cardigans have interesting patterns, such as mohair printed tie-dye knits. Buyers are selective, budgets are tighter, and people are looking for key items. They are looking for colour, items, and price. Passport is about good price points, and we’ve been absorbing the price increases, if you pass it on as a brand you can end up losing market share. We are looking to develop our marketing with retailers, with promotional launch days.”
