The collection

Baumler’s autumn 09 collection features a mixture of classic business suiting and formal shirting with outerwear ranging from overcoats, trenchcoats and puffa jackets. While browns, beiges and coffee colours feature on tailoring and knitwear on the more casual parts of the renage, the most UK friendly story is a clean and classic offer of navy and black suiting with strong purple and berry accents via pinstripes.

Double vented, 2SB wool and polymide mix suits predominate although a black narrow lapel, and slim trouser leg style adds a more trend led option. Shirting follows the berry tone theme, with purple stripes of varying widths featuring on white backgrounds, as well as checks with the same colour comibnation. Collar shapes range from cutway to classic. Light gaugue knitwear incluces In line with the brand’s classic, businesswear focus, outerwear includes traditional wool overcoats, but a fitted trench and short pea coat keep tthe collection upd to date.

The collection also features a semi wet look puffa, one of the most popular looks at Pitti Uomo.

Brand comment

Baumler UK agent Jason Gerrard: “Baumler is focussed on a classic business look and we’ve got a strong story of black and navy with plum colours with stripes and checks which is a look that the UK eye undestands. There are a lot of short jackets and skinny trousers around, but you have to think about how much of that will work in the UK. Buyers we’ve spoken to at the show are in a positive mood and seem wiling to try new things. But overall there aren’t that many new trends at Pitti Uomo which is a shame as it’s important to have something different in the collection and in store just so you can say to a buyer or shopper - this is what we have new this season.”
