Named after designer Umit Sahin, this is the debut range from the brand, which is essentially a sideline for Sahin, who is dead of design at Cacharel. This though, is his first foray into menswear and the pleated T-shirts and shirts with ruched bib and cuff recall his womenswear sensibilities. Overall though this is a staunchly masculine collection that uses strong almost wilfully rough fabrications including thick raw cotton on jacketing and rough wool on outerwear in dark checks. The palette too is simple, with navy and grey dominating and touches of white and brown supplementing the look. This debut range is partly an intellectual exercise but Sahin says that side will be toned down next season and the potential for a strong menswear range is here. Prices are pitched at the premium end.
