Autumn 11

A muted, neutral palette of soft greys, tobaccos, fawns and browns was prevalent, but it was purple that injected colour into the collections. Shades ranged from lilac and mauve through to bold cerise, Cadbury’s purple and deep violet, and were mostly used as block colours, although some brands nodded to the trend with injections of purple in busy prints. The darker tones hinted at a 1970s influence and autumnal feel.
