Retro sneaker brand Bata returns

The trend for heritage sneaker brands shows no sign of slowing down, with big names like New Balance, Saucony, K-Swiarchives for 2014.

The latest to add to the list is Bata, which manufactured its first tennis shoe in 1936 and celebrates its 120th anniversary this year. Foss and Lacoste reintroducing classic styles from their r spring 14, Bata relaunched its original tennis shoe with an initial three-colour range at Dover Street Market in London in May, before opening a pop-up in Selfridges’ Shoe Galleries this month. Previously only available in white, the style can now be bought in indigo and black as well as blue, pink and yellow from Selfridges. Wholesale prices are available on request.
