Rippled surfaces

Spring 11

Mills embracing a water-inspired theme for the spring 11 season, as lightweight fabrics were given volume and movement that emulated ripples and waves, with cloqué, trapped threads, fringing and blister prints offering subtle textural effects. Seersucker stripes created dimensional relief for casual shirtings, as seen at Tessitrama, while Toray offered a polyester/nylon technical suiting with engineered creasing. At Jackytex, mesh stripes were used with contrast frill pleats while other mills took a more subtle approach with finely pleated silk.
