Sourcing show sees surge in overseas interest

Sourcing trade show Fashion SVP has seen a surge of interest from manufacturers in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East thanks to increasing confidence in the UK fashion industry.

The second edition of the show will feature exhibitors from ten different countries including Romania, France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Portugal and Latvia.

Ken Baber, show manager at Fashion SVP, said the increasing number of overseas manufacturers was driven by the UK economy’s gradual return to normality.

“We are seeing a definite increase in the level of interest and confidence in the UK fashion industry [as a result],” he said. “The strength of the British pound, the launch of The British Fashion Council’s Future of Fashion report and the eyes of the world focusing on the UK’s summer of celebration has clearly attracted manufacturers from new countries to Fashion SVP.”

The show will be held from September 23 to 25 at Olympia in London.
