The Berlin Shows: Labels to watch

A host of labels showed for the first time in Berlin. These are the brands worth investigating further…

Capsule Samantha Pleet

Designer Samantha Pleet decided to exhibit at Capsule after showing at its sister event in her New York hometown. Silk jumpsuits and maxi dresses with twisted detailing in soft pastels are teamed with brightly coloured mesh skater dresses for spring 15. Prints are strong, with tie-dye, shooting stars and floral designs. High-waisted shorts and co-ordinated crop tops were picked out by Pleet as winning items. Wholesale prices start at $40 (£23) for tops, rising to $125 (£73) for dresses.

Capsule MÖ Studior

The debut range from this British menswear label is more premium than its founder’s other creation, streetwear brand Malmo. It features graphic T-shirts, dress shirts with polo shirt collars and terry cotton sweatshirts with cut-out slogans across the chest. Wholesale prices range from £9 for a cap to £45 for a blazer (pictured).

Capsule Thomas Demess
This three-year-old Parisian menswear label made its Berlin debut at Capsule with a clean-cut, oriental-inspired collection. Standout pieces include lightweight two-tone shirts made with Italian and French cotton and artistic printed sweatshirts. Cuff detailing on T-shirts (far right) and jackets is a recurring theme, while an array of blue tones across shorts and shirts give a fresh, summery feel. Shirts start at €86 (£68) and jackets from €177 (£140).
