This week’s hero: Marmalade & Mash

Pointing the way to the most important products, people, stories and shows in fashion right now.

Founded in 2011 by London College of Fashion graduate Naomi Langford-Archer, premium kidswear brand Marmalade & Mash captures an element of British nostalgia without venturing into the sickly sweet for spring 14. Ice-cream shades of mint and lemon line up across boyswear in deckchair stripes, giving a smart three-piece short suit (wholesaling at £76.50 in total) real charm. Meanwhile, the girls’ range features neat playsuits (£26), cute Peter Pan-collar blouses (£13.50) and more grown-up full circle-skirted day dresses (£28), some in dainty pastel floral prints.

Targeting two to nine-year-olds, the hardy cottons and lightweight linens should keep them as comfortable as they are well-dressed. Wholesale prices range from £13.50 for a girl’s blouse to £37.50 for a boy’s blazer.
