Mainstream footwear tradeshow GDS got underway in Dusseldorf, Germany yesterday.
The three day tradeshow, which is known for showcasing a wide range of comfort brands, is reported by the brands showing there to be “quiet” with the majority of buyers present at the show coming from German retailers.
Drapers takes a brief look at a couple of the brands exhibiting at the show.
Men’s footwear brand Base London says that tassels on many of its styles and an injection of colour in to the collection are some of its stand out trends for spring 13. Contrasting fabrics are also evident on the uppers of some styles, as is visible stitch detailing. Some of the brand’s key heritage styles such as the Wallabee have been revamped for spring with a colourful upper.

Danish comfort footwear brand Sanita has introduced the more trend-led sub brand Daisy to the UK for spring 13. The Daisy range comprises five sandal styles in five different colours, which differ from Sanita’s clog-focused mainline.
