With great product and service to the fore, this store is a hard act to follow.
Whistles has got the spring delivery spot on for its customer: a healthy mix of quality basics with a strong trend direction well suited to the Whistles woman. Most interesting is the bright and bold use of colour on tailored separates and design differences on knitwear, while the wild floral print also stands out. Contrast materials such as faux leather and yellow tweed ensure a strong point of difference is stamped throughout the collection.
On a par with Reiss in terms of price, Whistles has the quality and standout pieces to warrant its top-end high street prices. A printed floral dress at £150 is particularly strong – its eye-catching print and the fact that it is 100% silk highlight it as a real value for money purchase. A 100% cotton knitted jumper with intarsia stripe is £85 and this season’s favourite trend, coloured jeans, are £80, which is reasonable for the quality that Whistles offers.
Whistles’ windows are some of the most appealing in the shopping centre. Well lit, with bright on-trend product in the window but at the same time not blocking the rest of the store, which is clearly visible. Staff were helpful and as soon as an item was picked up it was placed in the fitting room, so browsing could continue. A good range of sizes are available and accessories are merchandised conveniently throughout the store. A mix of freestanding fixtures and shelf units ensure product is easy to shop.
