Who’s Next Prêt-à-Porter Paris, Spring 13

Bold use of colour, print and pattern stole the show in Paris last week, as key show Who’s Next Prêt-à-Porter kicked off the spring 13 womenswear season.

Sporty looks led the way, but more casual and relaxed than last spring’s luxe version. Slubby sweatshirts, running shorts, bomber jackets and jogging-style trousers were all key.

Buyers praised brands’ brave colours, from neons to pinky-orange corals and minty greens. Punchy prints also stood out – look to ditsy florals, polka dots and tropical foliage.

Other new directions included the extension of the hi-lo hem across all categories including tops, knits and even outerwear.
