What big trends are you banking on for spring 14?

Industry insiders share their thoughts.

Style Council

Barbara Horspool

Blue will be a trend across the spectrum, worn with white. Bold Hawaiian prints will work for men and women.

Bleached, splashed and tie-dye effects mixed with natural cottons, slub fabrics and tape yarns will also be strong for the season.

Andy Grant

The sportswear trend will continue to be big for spring 14. Technical fabrication is a big one for us too.

Our nylon windcheaters, oversized T-shirts and sweats, sports vests and runners will all be must-haves for the season.

Liz Wilson

The kimono will be a great versatile summer piece, as the customer can wear it with existing items in their wardrobe, such as a sun dress. The classic shift dress will also be a key style, which we’re looking at doing in knitted and
woven fabrics.

Ann-Sofie Johansson

For spring 14, we will see a new silhouette with more volume. We will move away from the bohemian, rock ‘n’ roll look of autumn 13. There will be a lighter colour palette, which will include pastels such as pale pinks and blues.
