Australian contemporary womenswear label Wheels & Dollbaby is returning to the UK wholesale market after a five-year hiatus.
The Sydney-based label has started to wholesale its autumn 12 short-order collection via Robert de Keyser, owner of fashion agency Fashion R, for September deliveries. De Keyser, who represented the brand for four years when it was in the UK, said he was looking to secure 50 stockists within the first year.
“We had 70 stockists and a wholesale order book of £2.5m the last time it was in the UK,” he said. “People loved it. It had a real celebrity following and some great stockists including Harrods and Selfridges.”
He said he was targeting all the multiple retailers that sold the brand previously, including Harrods and House of Fraser, as well as contemporary womenswear independents. The brand had continued to be sold in the UK by etailer Asos and Cardiff womenswear indie Blush Baby.
